2010 SUMMER DAY CAMP PROGRAM

The Boys & Girls Club of the Grand Strand is now taking sign-ups for the Club’s Summer Day Camp program which is designed for youth 5 to 14 years of age and will be hosted at the Myrtle Beach Family Learning Center (3101 Oak Street, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577 - the facility is also commonly known as the OLD Myrtle Beach Elementary School).  The Day Camp program is open to all youth and is organized around weekly "kid friendly" themes and activities.

Hours of operation for the Summer Day Camp Program will be Monday – Friday from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm.  The Club’s 10-week Summer Day Camp Program will run from June 7th to August 13th, 2010.

Activities will include arts & crafts, sports & fitness events, technology classes, games room tournaments, community service projects, educational activities and much more.  In addition to the regular daily activities participants will be taken on field trips twice a week on Tuesdays & Thursdays to include bowling, swimming, skating, going to the movies, and visiting area parks & attractions.  Field trip fees are included in the very affordable $60 per child weekly program fee.

All camp participants must become registered 2010 Boys & Girls Club members and have a current membership application on file (the Club's membership fee is just $10 per child).

Limited scholarship assistance is available beyond the Club's already low weekly fees if applicants can demonstrate hardship.  Program scholarships will be awarded on a case by case basis and are subject to the availability of scholarship funds.  If you would like to help sponsor a low-income child for the Club’s Spring Break or Summer Day Camp Programs please call Don C. Hall - Executive Director at the organization’s Administrative Office at 843-445-9964 or send an email to dhall@bgclubgs.org.

For more information on our Summer Day Camp Program please call Trinna McNair-Pigg our Site Supervisor at the Myrtle Beach Family Learning Center in the afternoons M-F from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at 843-213-1185 or send her an email at TPigg@bgclubgs.org.
